Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Southern Railway has announced a major recruitment drive for 3,518 Act Apprentice vacancies under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the year 2025. This is one of the largest apprenticeship notifications released by the Southern Railway, offering opportunities for freshers as well as ITI-qualified candidates to undergo hands-on skill training in various trades.

The apprenticeship will be conducted in different divisions and workshops of Southern Railway, covering locations such as Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, Salem, Tirunelveli, and Coimbatore. Candidates will be trained in multiple trades, including Fitter, Welder, Electrician, Carpenter, Painter, Machinist, Mechanic, and Medical Laboratory Technician.

The recruitment aims to provide candidates with practical training experience that will make them more employable in the future, both in the railways and in the private sector. This initiative not only helps in skill development but also supports the Government of India’s mission of promoting vocational training through the Skill India program.
